SPARE PARTS DEPARTMENT NORWALK, CT

As a key member of our plant management team, the primary responsibility of the Department Manager is to lead, coach and support all employees in their activities associated with providing quality spares parts and service on time to our North and South American customers.

The Department Manager will lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of Data Entry, Customer Service and Spares Warehouse functions and personnel.

Specific responsibilities include:

~ Liaison between our North & South American customers and our U.K. based factory
~ Part number verification and identification for spare parts and seamer tooling
~ Assist in order taking
~ Liaise with inventory control supervisor to coordinate between international and domestic drop shipments
~ Coordinate customer quality issues
~ Follow up on customer inquiries
~ Coordinate, expedite and follow-up recommended spares packages
~ Provide personnel depth and support to spares and seamer tooling profit centers
~ Purchasing duties to include:
-Coordinate request for quotation from predetermined outside contractors
- Monitor and purchase all office consumables
- Coordinate all proposals for the sale of machinery upgrade kits, overhauls and preventative maintenance audits
- Prepare quotations for the sale of machinery upgrade kits, overhauls and preventative maintenance audits
~ Liaise with UK on pricing and stock levels of spare parts including inventory turn analysis. ~ Computer systems responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate periodic backup and standardization of each computer workstation
- Maintain all aspects of the networked computer systems
- Maintain all computer hardware
~ Provide or organize training as needed for all personnel
~ Work with Business Manager to prepare weekly and monthly report of sales and profit by profit center
~ Manage the day-to-day operation of Data Entry, Customer Service and Spares Warehouse functions and personnel Travel Percentage: 0%

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

~ 2 year Associates Degree, preferably in an Engineering Discipline
~ Proficient in reading blueprints.
~ Basic knowledge of computer systems
~ Basic knowledge of computer hardware and repair of same
~ Excellent oral and written communication skills
~ Full command of MS Office required (Word, Excel)
~ Strong organization and project management skills. Deadline oriented.
~ Customer oriented
~ Analytical
~ Team player
