CNC specialist II shift - RPTC

Department Description: High Speed Machining lab providing engineering services, prototype parts, tooling and fixtures to product engineering groups on critical schedules for new product development. Engineering services include DFMA consulting, tool and fixture design, database repair and manipulation, program management and schedule coordination.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Set-up and operation of high speed CNC equipment and /or NC Bridgeport type mills;

Perform first article QC on all new parts produced;

QC inspection of ongoing jobs; programming, using CAM software, 2D and simple 3D models;

Running of secondary operations (de-burr, tumble, thread, side holes, grinding, etc) on machined or molded parts;

Participation in coordination of activity schedules with programmers, manufacturing engineers and specialists is required.^^

Knowledge Skills: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of experience with CAD/CAM


Other knowledge/skills:
Candidate should be skilled at working with manual and custom milling and turning, tool grinding and surface grinding.

Experience in CNC milling machine setup and operations.

Basic knowledge of manual metrology equipment (height gauge, toolmaker scope, caliper, micrometer, etc) to check parts.

Experience working with aluminum, plastic and some steels.

Good math skills and strong communication skills.

Familiar with CAD/CAM programs for database checking (Pro/E, MasterCam). Programming experience is a must.

Experience using MasterCam is a plus.

Good Time management skills and organizational skills.
Precision/detail work focus is required.

Must be able to work efficiently in team environment with fast paced schedules and multiple parallel work in progress.

Experience with milling equipment using FANUC controllers a plus.
