Coordinate Measuring Machine Operator
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:
Will perform all functions of CMM operation.
Must be well versed in GD&T.
Must possess the ability to read, interpret: drawings, planning sketches and related information.
Must have good working knowledge of all standard inspection equipment as well as industry standards for usage and accuracy. Monitors own work for accuracy and maintains quality on consistent basis, through the use of supplied data and previous experience.
May be required to “reverse” engineer parts and or fixtures as well as establish gage specific calibration procedures and or methods.
In addition, will perform standard calibration processes in Quality Department, when needed.
Perform routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, parts in process and finished parts.
Performs routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards.
Performs visual inspection for obvious defects.
Record results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found.
Some lifting of items of various weights, both assisted and unassisted.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have prior experience in CMM operation and experience working in a manufacturing quality department in an inspection capacity.
Able to communicate verbally and/or in writing with other Employes, Engineers, Inspectors, Toolmakers and Supervision, as necessary.
Must be proficient in computer use (MS Office), including the ability to run existing programs, and ability to write programs for new parts and tooling.
Knowledge of Virtual DMIS as well as other CMM software and strong math skills
