Positronic Industries, Inc. has immediate openings for Automatic Lathe Operators. These positions require formal classroom training at our facility, which is paid for by the company. Upon completion of this classroom instruction and on-the-job training, the employee will receive certification from the U.S. Department of Labor, which is recognized throughout the United States. These positions are on 2nd shift, training is on 1st shift. Starting wage is $9.50 per hour.

Job duties include:

Determine machining to be done, dimensions of parts, permissible tolerances and plan sequence of operations based on blueprints and layout sheets.

Decide on station and timing of each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time.

Select cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts and cutting tools to be used on basis of experience and knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics, or by referring to tables, charts, instructions or layout sheets.

Install stock feed pushers, collets and bushings.

Install spindle speed and feed change gears.

Install cams that control movement of stock and tools.

Mount cutting tools in tool holders and mount them on machine.

Start machine, observe operation and verify conformance.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior mechanical experience is needed.

Must have excellent math and communication skills.
Must be able to work alone or in teams of co-workers.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and manuals.
Ability to solve practical problems and troubleshoot.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
