Assistant Supervisor (Production)

We have an immediate opportunity for an Assistant Supervisor who will be a floor leader that supports the production lines and directs the daily work activities of 10 employees. This position reports to the shift supervisor at the Rockford plant, a manufacturer of extruded polystyrene for building construction products. The facility employs approx. 75 employees and runs 24/7 continuous operation with 5 shifts. Candidates must be willing to work on weekend and night shifts (8:00p.m. - 8:00a.m. and 12a.m. - 8:00a.m.)

Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and improving the safety culture at the facility by daily safety leadership, coordinating safety training, incident investigation and reporting, and acting as a change agent to resolve any safety related issues to assist in promoting an accident free workplace;
- Daily direction of work activities for approximately 10 employees
- Provide ongoing training to both new and current employees
- Ensure production goals are met with quality product
- Execute production scheduling orders with appropriate labor to meet production and customer needs
- Support the plant goals with continuous improvement actions that eliminate waste in the process and result in higher production efficiencies.

The ideal candidate should have 3 years of manufacturing experience, with proven skills in leadership, communication and teambuilding skills. A strong safety back-ground in plant environments is highly desired. Computer proficiency is strongly preferred, and SAP
knowledge helpful.
