Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the foundry during his/her shift responsibilities through direct supervision of department supervisors and union personnel.

Provide direct supervision as well as motivational and training support to Department Supervisors and, indirectly to all hourly Union employees. Performs in a leadership role in implementing the policies and directions of the Foundry Manager as well as Company policies and goals for Foundry Department production, quality, efficiency and safety.

Participate in quality and safety reviews and audits to maintain and improve the ISO-9002 implementation of work procedures and policies. Advise the Foundry Manager of challenges, problems, improvements, ideas and opportunities that are fostered by Department Supervisors as well as by salaried and hourly workers
REQUIREMENTS
Scope Data/Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Normal operations will involve working 10 to 12 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week.

Majority of time will be spent in the production operations.

Job requires a substantial amount of time walking, standing, climbing steps and ladders.

Works around molten (2700 degree) iron. Deals with sands and chemicals in a green-sand foundry operation.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Traits:

Minimum of 5+ years of actual foundry supervisory experience with at least 2+ years in a general or line management role with multiple supervisors as direct reports and a work force of at least 200 workers.

Experience must be in high-volume, foundry or machined cast products operation and in an ISO-9002 environment.

Must have a demonstrable and proven track record of bottom-line profitability impact, productivity/quality improvement and be skilled at Union workforce supervision.·

Must have strong work ethic, outgoing and assertive personality and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers.

Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.

Hands-on style in production operations is required.
