A major integrated corrugated packaging manufacturing company (Manufacture Boxes) is seeking a 2nd/3rd Shift General Supervisor for one of their plants in the Mid West



Background/Experienced Required:



The Shift General Supervisor/Shift Superintendent will have a working knowledge of the corrugated industry and have a thorough understanding of the process used to make boxes. The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the operation within the plant on a particular shift. The Shift General Supervisor/Shift Superintendent will focus on leading two direct report Production Supervisors in meeting the expectations in Safety, Machine Speed, Quality Processes, and Housekeeping. The candidate will oversee Flexo Graphic printing presses and Die Cutter Machines, and in addition, have responsibility of a 98" Corrugator. The Shift General Supervisor/Shift Superintendent will be responsible for the training and development activities of the Shift assigned to him/her. The following is a list of the more specific characteristics that were identified as "must-haves".

§ The candidate must have five to ten years of supervisory experience preferably managing an entire shift within the corrugated industry.

§ Must be willing to work 2nd 0r 3rd shift.

§ The candidate must have experience supervising in a plant producing high volume MSF per week. Must have demonstrated a goal driven attitude towards motivating crews to run machines at OEM (original equipment speeds) and to a "proven capability" machine speed.

§ The candidate must understand Safety/ OSHA requirements, and be able to enforce plant safety rules.

§ The candidate must have understanding of converting equipment and corrugator.

Interpersonal or Behavioral Characteristics Required:



§ The candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills.

§ The candidate must have strong leadership skills, and candidate should manage with a "flexible" leadership style, including empowerment and support of floor personnel.

§ The candidate must have excellent planning, and organization skills.

§ The candidate must be able to resolve conflicts proactively by gathering information, mediating/negotiations, implementing solutions and following up as appropriate.
