Warehouse / Front Line Manager / Benicia, CA

DESCRIPTION

Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary and leading manufacturer and distributor of custom home décor items is looking for a warehouse/front line/operations manager at the company's Benicia, CA distribution center. Position reports to the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•The Warehouse Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the day-to-day operations and activities in the warehouse
•Needs to be effective "hands-on” manager
•Maintain standards or metrics to measure productivity & track performance
•Strong leadership, confidence and good communication skills
•Ability to manage and direct a team of hourly team members in a customer focused environment
•Hire, train, mentor and perform employee evaluations
•Make sure deliveries are made smoothly by working with personnel and drivers
•Maintain highly accurate inventory
•Budget control or P&L experience
•Familiar with ACT! Or Goldmine or similar customer contact management system
•Knowledge of WMS or AS400 or similar
•Negotiate with outside vendors

EXPERIENCE

•College undergraduate degree desired
•5 to 7 years in a management role related to warehouse, operations, manufacturing and distribution
•Good communication and problem-solving skills
•Mechanical Aptitude a plus
•Experienced in utilizing a formalized system for productivity and performance tracking
