The Supervisor is responsible for managing the store in the absence of the Store Manager, Co-Manager
and Assistant Manager. This non-exempt position also assists in the day-to-day running of the store.Job Requirements
Goals Achievement:
•Demonstrate leadership in driving sales and profitability by achieving all established store and individual goals.

Sales Management/Customer Service/Selling Skills:
•Ensure effective execution of sales productivity programs.
•Personally demonstrate high level of customer service.
•Be able to effectively service all customers in the fitting room.
Human Resources/Management Skills:
•Demonstrate proper management skills to assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in managing the store’s staff, as necessary.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in training associates.
•Be aware of Company payroll hour allocation for store and, in the absence of the Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager; use the hours to provide proper floor coverage.
•Be knowledgeable of and able to complete all payroll procedures.
•Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with customer and/or associate problems/complaints.
•Exhibit sound decision-making skills and perform with a minimum of supervision.
•Identify problems and opportunities and discuss them with Store Manager.
•Follow all Company policies and procedures, and set a positive example for associates. Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in communicating policies and procedures to associates and monitoring compliance.
•Effectively manage own time and, in absence of Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager, associates ensuring a smooth workflow.
•Meet Company standards for appearance, performance and knowledge.
Merchandise Management/Visual Merchandising:
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in directing and maintaining merchandise presentation according to Visual Merchandising standards and current Strategy Pack.
•Understand and communicate customer merchandise needs and recognize when the store’s merchandise assortment meets, and fails to meet, these needs.
•Ensure that in-store and out-of-store fashion shows are conducted according to specified guidelines.
•Work with the Store Manager to ensure markdowns and transfers are completed correctly and in a timely manner.

Loss Prevention:
•Maintain acceptable inventory shortage.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in training and enforcing security policies and procedures, including zone defense.
•Ensure the securing of Company funds as outlined in the Register, Operations and Loss Prevention Manuals.
•Understand and properly handle worker’s compensation and public liability situations/reports, as needed.
•Ensure consistent control of merchandise in and out of the fitting rooms.
•Ensure bank deposits are made as directed.
•Ensure safety of associates by identifying dangerous situations and reporting them to the Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager. In absence of Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager, enlist aid of appropriate personnel.
•Respond to store alarm problems, as directed.
•Complete mark-out-of-stocks and return to vendors on a timely basis.
•Properly process register functions and ensure, as directed, that they are properly followed in the store.

Store Operations:
•Manage store in absence of Store Manager, Co-Manager and Assistant Manager.
•Assist Store Manager in ensuring store meets Company standards for cleanliness, both on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in maintenance of cash wrap, back room and store files according to Company standards.
•Accurately perform and assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in training associates in all appropriate register functions.
•Ensure that all layaways are current and that appropriate deposits are made.
•Consistently ensure that all customer and associate holds are current or returned to stock on a timely basis.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in controlling inventory and expenses, effectively using supplies, reducing overhead and ensuring timeliness, accuracy and legibility of paperwork, etc.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in directing staff in handling of merchandise receipts and transfers, including checking in, hanging, steaming and EAS placement.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in ensuring shipments of merchandise are processed in and out of the store quickly and accurately. Expedite placement of stock onto the sales floor.
•Effectively set up sales/promotions with proper signing in a timely manner.
Training:
•Train associates as assigned by Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager.
•Communicate merchandise knowledge, including features and benefits and Body Basics to staff on a regular basis. Ensure staff is properly trained using this information.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in communicating changes in store policies and procedures to staff, and ensure that changes are implemented correctly.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in ensuring that customer profile information is accurately keyed into the register.
•Assist Store Manager/Co-Manager/Assistant Manager in making sure manuals are kept up-to-date and that training materials are in assigned places in the store.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.




Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•High school diploma or equivalent. Some college a plus.
•Two or more years retail experience. Management experience helpful but not necessary.
•Good written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to manage people.
•Accuracy in all assigned paperwork.
•Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make good decisions.
•Must be flexible.
•Good understanding of women’s fashion.
•Good visual merchandising skills.
•Good selling skills.
•Must present a professional appearance.

Physical Requirements

•Good physical dexterity
•Ability to use common tools.
•Able to operate computerized register system.
•Ability to operate a car preferred.
•Must be able to meet store-banking requirements and to respond to store alarm problems, as needed.
•Able to lift as much as 35 pounds.
•Able to climb an 8-foot ladder.
