As Sr. Director, Biostatistics - Therapeutic Area Head, you will direct statistical and programming support activities, including allocation of resources, overseeing the scheduling of projects, and monitoring the project status and evaluate the material generated by supervised staff for validity, quality and effectiveness of presentation. You will ensure that all study and project level statistical and programming activities are conducted in compliance with relevant requirements and high quality standards and ensure consistency of statistical and programming approaches across the therapeutic area. You must be accountable for timely, production and accuracy of all statistical analyses, programmed outputs and integrated scientific reports for clinical trial results, exploratory and Meta Analyses, publications activities, scientific presentation and promotional material on assigned studies and regulatory submissions both local and international. You will represent the Biostatistics team in communicating statistical issues on studies to clinical, regulator and commercial teams and be the company expert and resource on statistical/programming issues, by providing guidance to both Clinical and Commercial branches of the company. You will direct hiring, performance appraisals, staff promotions, and other administrative functions and devise a plan for the training of new members in the therapeutic area. As the discussant at the Clinical Research Council (CRC) meetings, you will fully participate in the statistical/programming issues. You will also ensure timeliness and quality of statistical and programming deliverables according to project plans for assigned studies and projects and keep informed of developments in new statistical/programming methodology and statistically/programming related guidelines and regulations.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, computer sciences or other related field with at least 15 years experience and 11 years of supervisory activities or an MS in Biostatistics, Applied Statistics or related area and at least 20 years of experience and 14 years of management experience. It is advantageous for the candidate to possess a thorough knowledge of the theory and techniques of applied statistical methods in pharmaceutical industry, such as Experimental Designs, ANOVA, Linear Models, non-parametric, regression, correlation analysis, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, Longitudinal Data Analysis (LDA), Data Mining Techniques, Adaptive Designs and Clinical Trial Designs. It is also advantageous for the incumbent to possess programming skills in SAS and a good understanding of database systems. The candidate should have a comprehensive working knowledge of clinical data analysis and reporting process as it pertains to drug development. Good oral and written communication, strong leadership and managerial skills are also required.
