Senior Manager, Actuarial

We are currently seeking an Actuarial Senior Manager to join us in our Chicago office.KPMG’s Actuarial Services professionals offer business strategies to clients in the rapidly changing insurance and reinsurance industries. We also bring insight and quantitative analytic skills to non-insurance clients including healthcare companies, government agencies, self-insurers, and others. We assist clients in understanding and addressing challenges caused by competition, technology, mergers and acquisitions, globalization, increased regulatory scrutiny, and the ongoing struggle to provide greater value to stakeholders.Responsibilities:

Perform and manage/lead audit work on U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory basis including the review of asset adequacy analyses

Provide managerial and technical support to actuarial senior management group including advisory projects and audit support functions

Advise clients and lead engagements on financial reporting related matters in the areas of financial statement conversions, compliance with new or existing standards, and other matters as they arise

Advise clients and lead engagements on process review work such as review of actuarial internal controls

Perform transaction-related work including due diligence and purchase GAAP conversions

Assist clients in understanding and developing their capital/risk management programs

Provide overall support for the leader of the National Life/Health Actuarial Services practiceQualifications:

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and seven years of overall insurance actuarial experience with two years as an FSA

Strong skills in GAAP and Statutory financial reporting

Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience in managing actuarial support staff

Able to work on multiple projects and/or with multiple supervisors and be able to prioritize work without intensive direction from supervisors

Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet software (MS Excel)

Understanding of life and annuity products
