Senior Category Manager, FLNA - Team Wal*Mart

This person will lead FLNA's Wal*Mart based Category Management team and preferably be based in Rogers, Arkansas.  The position will report dually to the Vice President, Sales ? FLNA Wal-Mart and the Director, Category Management ? PepsiCo.

Key areas of responsibility will be:
To build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with our customer through objective and actionable insight development, and presentations To lead all FLNA consumer and category management initiatives within Wal*Mart To support fact-based selling in order to drive measurable sales growth and profitability To build, develop and lead the Frito-Lay Wal*Mart Category Management Team

Key Accountabilities:
Lead strategic consumer and category management initiatives within salty snacks (Dept 82 and Dept 95), macro-snacks, and overall food & beverage (where appropriate) Provide direction, support, and thought leadership to a team of four Category Managers and Analysts in regards to project and insight development Support senior sales executives and field sales teams by delivering actionable category and consumer insights that drive measurable results Ensure the continual training and development of team members to enhance business knowledge and analytical skills, and career development Communicate insights and project results with division and corporate personnel, as well as with other category management team members Assist data mining manager by providing direction on customer and category needs, and data expertise with retail link Conduct detailed analysis and reporting, utilizing the appropriate information resources Develop on-going, long-term relationships with the buyer in support of field and category management objectives Lead and/or develop modular opportunities, including the development of regional/store specific plan-o-grams Maintain frequent, clear and open communication within and among functional teams regarding projects, insights and/or company issues
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor?s Degree; MBA preferred
* 3-5 years of customer marketing and/or category management experience
* 5-7 years experience in analyzing and interpreting data, and team/project management experience
* Proven leadership skills--ability to direct activities of individual team members towards goals
* Strong analytical skills--ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan
* Excellent communication skills-- ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
* Strong teamwork skills--posses exceptional group facilitation skills
* Strong planning/organizing skills-- capable of managing major projects simultaneously
* Able to establish and attain high standards for self and team; able to make decisions and solve problems
