Sales Training Manager

MAJOR PURPOSE
Optimize business results and leverage human capital within the sales organization by managing all training and education activities to improve learning and performance. Partner with HR Generalist to build, mobilize and evaluate human capital.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all training activities within specified area of responsibility including planning, scheduling and delivery.

- Transform learning interventions into workplace performance (i.e. learning transfer, reinforcement)

- Conduct stand-up training and facilitation by utilizing multiple methods to deliver performance improvement interventions (i.e. classroom, e-learning, CD, video conferencing etc.)

- Collaborate with Human Resources team to produce and provide learning products and services tailored to meet business partners needs.

- Measure and monitor outcomes of performance interventions to ensure results.

- Optimize the utilization of GLC products and services. (i.e., LMS)

- Provide information regarding barriers and opportunities for GLC products and services through a standardized process/communication tool.

- Recruit instructors internal and external to the GLC and establish local training facilities both internal and external to the Grainger network

- Help managers and employees define training and education solutions that support performance improvement and personal development.

- Engage business clients and internal GLC partners through a specific and consistent process orientation.

- Provide appropriate advice, feedback and developmental resources to improve the effectiveness of individuals and teams.

- Conduct assessments to identify skill and competency gaps that restrict achieving sales and productivity goals.

- Create and document training plans to address current and emerging business needs.

- Participate in training program development as a subject matter expert.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
- Presentation and facilitation certification.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and written.
- Proven relationship building skills.
- Knowledge of Human Performance Improvement (HPI)
- Technical literacy with PCs, ERP systems, etc.
- Ability to gain and build support for workplace initiatives.
- Business acumen in Sales, Operation and/or Distribution
- Travel of 75% in and out of town.
- May require relocation
