Research Director

The following is a brief description of some of the duties and requirements:

• Maintain inventory in ClearView avail and research system; updating programming and creating estimates for special programming. Supervise assistant on input and system maintenance.
• Pull NSI overnights and rolling averages for distribution. Update programs for multi-track reports (monthly). Monitor meter placement as it relates to marketplace statistics. Maintains relationship with Nielsen representative. Serves as primary reporting contact to Nielsen.
• Assist Local Account Executives and national rep firm executives with package plans, rankers, customer needs analysis, and qualitative data (Scarborough).
• Provide data analysis to Sales, Promotion, News and Programming for programming, demographic or strategic planning purposes.
• Provide information for sales presentations (one sheets).
• Assist Local Account Executives in developing, preparing and presenting sales presentations.
• Assist sales executives on marketing plans for new and existing accounts.
• Works with Promotion Manager to analyze, plan, evaluate and place 9News television station promotion. Manage co-op claiming from network and syndicators.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Ability to be innovative and creative in developing ways to present our various products.
REQUIREMENTS
• Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Qualitap, Powerpoint, Quark X-Press, Ad Telligence/Market Manager, Galaxy Navigator, and The Media Audit.
• Minimum 3 years in broadcast/advertising industry.
• Well-versed with computers, able to maintain sales systems, troubleshoot, etc.
• Good presentation and writing skills.
