PolyOne Elk Grove, IL has an immediate opening for a strong Quality Supervisor. This individual will work with the Quality Manager to ensure continuous improvement of products and processes consistent with ISO standards. Position will be direct supervisor of the plant's quality technicians, leading their training and day to day activities in a manufacturing environment. Actively participate on plant teams to promote continuous improvement of product quality. Assist manufacturing and other support groups with quality data analysis. Must have the ability to identify and troubleshot causes of failure to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Assist process specialists to define and analyze process conditions, conduct capability studies and improve line capabilities. Monitor and revise processes to help generate cost savings and improve the quality and efficiency of product/process. Also, develop new techniques while being able to resolve dynamic issues in a fast paced and changing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, 3 years experience in Quality Department with Color Science background in lieu of degree. Ideal candidate would have three (3) years of experience in quality program development, implementation and support in a manufacturing environment, plastics background or color science STRONGLY preferred. Supervisory experience desired. Must be detail-oriented and proficient in problem-solving techniques (quality tool box: Pareto, trend analysis, Cause and Effect diagrams, control charting, process flow charting, process mapping, variability measurements, other root cause analysis techniques).
