Project Manager - Specialist II

FPMI, the leading provider of Enterprise Contract Center Operations, Human Capital Solutions and Integrated Training Solutions, is seeking a Project Manager/Specialist II. Position located at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, DC.Project Manager works directly with the Mechanical Engineer, Renewal/New Projects Office and Facilities Division, for the purpose of coordinating, accomplishing repair and new construction projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), Project procedures, and to ensure on-time delivery, within Project budget.
- Assists in the development of drawings involving: architectural layouts, writing specifications, schematic/drawings and design development.
- Prepares appropriate documentation for assigned segments or total portions of the overall plan.
- Recommends design changes to correct reported deficiencies or to meet installation requirements
- Coordinates with engineering personnel, Safety Office, Garrison Environmental Office, Army Public Works and outside contractors in carrying out formal contracts, in matters of civil, structural, electrical or related engineering phases of work
- Monitors construction schedules and actual work to determine project progress
- Inspects all classes of work with respect to specifications and to user requirements
- Coordinates design with Contractors, shops supervisors, engineering branches and other
- Reviews and interprets all local, Federal and Department of Army regulations, in designing the projects Critical Path.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture with four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- Hands-on experience with infrastructure repair and construction in a laboratory or national museum environment. Experience should include construction or repair of major facility infrastructure items, such as air handling units, coil, controls (pneumatic and digital), pumps, architectural renovation, and secondary electrical distribution
- Experience in preparation of work statements, estimates, scheduling and construction QA for Federal procurement.
- Be familiar with or have used software programs such as Word, Excel, AutoCAD, scheduling software, estimating software and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS).Work may be performed with Biosafety Level-3 laboratories.
