SBU Activity Project Manager
Reports To: SBU Activity ManagerPurpose of Role
The Project Manager has overall responsibility for facilitating the planning and execution of product and business development projects in terms of development, launch execution, and post launch evaluation. The Project Manager will partner with Franchise or Sales, (the Activity Champion - whomever is leading the activity), upon approval of the Activity Brief to facilitate and manage the development of the Activity Development Proposal (ADP) and the Activity Execution Proposal (AXP). The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams to successfully plan and execute projects. This will allow for focus on execution, improved visibility to risks and issues, and will help to establish a culture of discipline and excellence in execution.Principal AccountabilitiesProject Management from ADP Development to Post-Activity Evaluation
For a number of activities at any time, each at different stages in the cycle:
1. Develop the ADP
Manage cross-functional team to define the success criteria relevant to this activity for ADP approval and agree the questions that need to be explored during the ADP phase. Lead Activity Team (AT) with all key functions, and agree activity objectives and deliverables. Coordinate the development of project timelines, identify and agree key decision points and issues. Understand the business process and use it to plan and deliver the project to the highest levels. Ensure compliance of new activity process among cross-functional team members.2. Complete AXP through Execution
Facilitate the AT process to prepare and complete AXP. Set up and chair meetings, resolve cross-functional issues and agree actions arising, follow up on actions, define and report on milestones. Keep team members motivated to achieve commitments. Update team members on progress of the activity and ensure inputs from all functions are on time and as required. Assist in the implementation of reduced lead-times. Maintain Activity Management System (AMS) timeline of critical milestones. Identify critical decisions and ensure full sign-on to agreed solutions. Ensure that the project plan is developed and all members of the AT sign on to and deliver it. Present activity, status, progress, measurements and issues to local brand leader, Activity Manager, S&OP, SBU as required. Recommend when to proceed or to stop the activity. Submit AXP, present to S&OP and/or SBU to gain agreement, deal with issues arising. Manage project to the final launch of the activity.3. Complete Evaluation and handover
Deliver high quality aftercare with close attention to achieving the Critical Success Factors (CFSs) from all divisions (eg meeting rate of sale and distribution targets, delivering supply to forecast, dealing with issues arising). Manage the activity until a level of stability is achieved with in-store activity. Coordinate with Business Planners and the Activity Champions to ensure Post-Launch Assessments are completed in a timely manner and learnings are incorporated into subsequent projects. Propose changes to the process and/or system for purposes of improvement. Handover responsibility for the pack/brand to the Brand management team.4. Develop a process manual for Activity Management process and Project Management responsibilities, with detailed information of how to develop and execute activities.Mission Critical Competencies

A successful Project Manager needs to be able to facilitate all other divisions towards agreed and achievable goals. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the right decisions are made, agreed and actioned by the team. The Project Manager must influence colleagues from all divisions and at various levels through sometimes very challenging processes and decisions, and be able to successfully present to management when necessary. The decisions made by the Project Manager as to the feasibility of the activity execution will make or break whether activities reach the marketplace as agreed and expected by the customer. These activities drive the vast majority of SBU growth.
