Production Mgr II

This position is responsible for production operations, including safety, maintenance, planning and shipping at an assigned plant. Must contribute to achieving sales objective through coordination of workflow.
Direct and coordinate manufacturing through planning and expediting.

Coordinate maintenance work with customer and manufacturing needs.

Control manufacturing and conversion costs within budgetary limits.

Coordinate and maintain an on-going, effective safety plan.

Build effective relationships with all departments in plant to produce strong customer relationships and a superior product. Develop and implement a sales plan.

Establish goals, track results, uptime and quality productivity.

Build an effective partnership with union and union stewards; intervene with union issues and negotiations when necessary.

Ensure all customer feedback is promptly dealt with and all complaints are corrected immediately.

Prepare and submit reports as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Coach and counsel team members to perform to Smurfit-Stone standards.

Schedule plant team members to ensure coverage and coordinate activities

Ensure on a daily basis all Smurfit-Stone standards and customer commitments (i.e., R&A, safety, output, on-time delivery) are followed within the plant

Conduct performance appraisals and recommend salary adjustments in accordance with union guidelines.

Assist in recruiting and selecting team members.

Act as liaison with union/union employees and General Manager.

Maintain suitable stock levels and order supplies necessary to run the plant.

Monitor all control procedures.
