Newscast Director

KPNX-TV the Gannett station in Phoenix is seeking a newscast director. We need a leader in the control room who can oversee production and technical execution of very active newscasts.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should have five years experience in a large or medium markets directing, switching daily newscasts, running audio, desktop editing, and supervising the production crew. Must possess skills needed to direct a fast paced often changing, multiple live shot newscast. Effective interaction with a control room team from multiple departments is critical to success. Must have operational proficiency in digital switchers, audio boards, graphics generators, and edit systems. Experience with Deko graphics software and Avid editing helpful. Directors at 12 News are required to do some newscast editing, and may be called upon to fill studio/control positions as needed Strong leadership and organizational skills are a must. Willingness to work a variety of shifts and schedules important. A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of Phoenix and Arizona helpful. Bilingual in Spanish helpful.
