JOB SUMMARY
Provide analytical, asset management and investment analysis support to corporate and regional senior management for the portfolio. Responsible for the forecasting needs of Portfolio Management including valuations, strategic reviews, and lease analysis, as well as select information in the budgeting process and corporate reporting. Manage, coach and mentor analyst staff, and provide training in real estate concepts and process details.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for your regions’ forecasting, lease and valuation analyses, including the review of analyses prepared by your direct reports (analysts).
Support Portfolio Management (along with your staff) in their analysis needs including valuations, strategic reviews, joint venture structures, hold/sell analyses, and analyses of now or existing office markets.
Responsible for the property cash flow updates and related reporting which are used to project corporate earnings.
Prepare quarterly development cashflows in conjunction with the Development Group and analyses of potential new developments.
Manage your analyst staff and be responsible for their work product.
Train, coach and mentor your analyst staff, and work with senior management to provide career planning.
Train your analyst staff on real estate concepts, fundamentals and forecasting via Dyna, and ensure accuracy of their work product.
Ensure that recent acquisitions and dispositions are incorporated into the portfolio models.
Assist senior management with portfolio-wide analyses.
Serve as liaison to your regional staff in the financial analyses of properties including lease deal analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in finance with 5+ years of real estate financial analysis experience preferred. The ability to read and interpret lease agreements, partnership agreements, etc., and experience with lease-by-lease analysis software required (Argus and/or Dyna). Knowledge of real estate fundamentals, valuation concepts, debt fundamentals, property management and leasing issues, and a strong ability to research, analyze and draw conclusions is required. Proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheets and word processing skills required. Prior management experience in team oriented environment preferred. Strong leadership and supervisory capability coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Must be willing to take on new challenges beyond your current skill set as challenges in the group arise.
