Merchandise Team Manager

Overview :As a Merchandise Team Manager, you are responsible for driving the business by directing the merchandising and support functions for a designated family of business. Primary focus is on makeing the departments, merchandise, and floor customer-ready for business. This management position leads to a number of career paths including, but not limited to, Operations, Human Resources, Assistant General Manager - Selling, Regional Merchandise Manager.

Key Accountabilities:Drive Sales - Results MatterDaily review of merchandise receipt flow, markdowns, RTV's and damages
Role model exemplary service, lead Merchandise Team Leaders to do the same
Direct receipt flow, merchandise placement, replenishment and sales promotion set up
Analyze merchandising reports to review business results and take appropriate action to capitalize on business strengths and impact deficienciesPartner with General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Regional Merchandise Manager to plan and execute floor moves, merchandise placement and sales promotion impact needsParticipate in workload planning meeting to access needed help in operational tasks (e.g. markdowns, signing, RTVs, transfers) as requiredManage physical inventory process and ensure that shortage prevention initiatives are executed


Service-Customers FirstMaintain high customer readiness standards; deliver a clean, neat and easy to shop store environment through maintaining accessibility, clearance, and densisty standardsPartner with store executives to educate store team on service skills through product knowledgeProvide leadership to your team that focuses all members to ensure continual focus on customer servicePeople - You CountRecruit and hire relsults-oriented Team Leaders and AssociatesCreate a positive, inclusive work environmentPrioritize open door communication with all associates and resolve issues promptlyEducate, motivate and develop team to ensure effective performance through consistent on-the-job trainingMonitor and address performance issues on a timely basisEnsure all procedures, policies and shortage awaremess programs are understood and followed by managers and associatesSkills Summary:Minimum of 3 to 5 years retail management in a department or specialty storeDemonstrated ability to empower and develop a team of highly motivated associatesDemonstrated ability to collaborate as a member of a team and leaderDemonstrated ability to be flexible, execute plans, strategies and achieve desired resultsOutstanding leadership, interpersonal and communication skillsSuperior organizational skillsAbility to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively and persist in the face of obstaclesCommitment to exemplifying the highest integrity and professional business standards
