The American Funds Web Technical Services Manager has three broad areas of responsibility:
Ensure that the continually evolving American Funds websites are highly available, secure, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory and organizational standards

Manage, lead, and develop the technical services teams directly - 3-4 team managers, plus over 30 technical web professionals

Jointly lead and develop the overall American Funds Web Group as part of the American Funds web management team providing technical leadership, coaching, and associate development beyond the technical services team, to include all technical team members in the American Funds Web GroupSpecific responsibilities include:

Provide leadership and strategic technical direction for the websites by working closely with other senior web managers and associates

Provide thought leadership on the use of next-generation web technologies that will improve customer service, increase efficiency, and reduce costs

Be a leader in establishing enterprise technology strategy and governance processes

Create a world-class risk management program with a focus on Internet security, privacy, and IT controls and compliance

Build the web hosting environment of the future

Work with other managers and teams to ensure that appropriate development practices and technologies are in place to support applicable business unitsQualifications

Demonstrated ability to create and execute technology strategies that are in alignment with key business objectives

Vision and passion to make the American Funds websites a best-in-class leader on behalf of their users

Proven record of implementing and managing large-scale and high-performing web-based architectures and technologies

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional groups and at all levels of a large, team-oriented organization

Strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to help develop a rapidly evolving division within a global organization

Ability to lead teams by providing coaching, guidance, encouragement, and overall support
