Manager, Risk Management

As a member of our exclusive team, you'll enjoy exceptional rewards and growth opportunities.We need a talented individual to fill the role of Manager, Risk Management.This candidate will promote loan quality internally by identifying and solving problems within the areas of underwriting, funding, account management, compliance, quality control, audit, data discrepancy and HMDA. Assist in training operations staff in order to prevent problems; promote consistency in guidelines and staff performance. Train and manage a staff of approximately 15 employees. Continue to provide to employees and stay on top of continuing education in relationship to job function. Communicate regional issues, information and ideas to VP, Director of Credit and Operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Lead and guide Risk Managers with making recommendations to help generate revenue or prevent a potential loss to production for loans that have been identified as having a high risk prior to the funding of the loans.
Responsible for assigning and training Risk Managers in reviewing high risk loans for fraud prevention, predatory lending and potential monetary loss to company. Clearing all safescans and consumer fraud narratives on credit bureaus. Loans are reviewed prior to funding and associate is to complete all research necessary to provide recommendations to management on each file.
Work with internal Legal Department to ensure all Power of Attorneys, HOA Litigations and ground leases are reviewed by Risk Managers and that appropriate recommendations are made prior to submitting to Legal for final approval.
Continue to find additional sources to gather and assimilate information from outside groups including Post Funding Audit, Compliance, Policy and Procedures, Quality Control, etc. to keep staff abreast of current loan issues.
Review broker pipelines for potential problems when flagged by a current file in process. Make recommendations to place broker on watch or reject them.
Provide information to, and make recommendations to Division Manager, Corporate and other divisions to improve quality from within.
Plan and conduct semi annual Risk Management meetings.
Maintain positive and profitable relationships between Risk Managers and production groups.High school degree or general education degree (GED) and five years mortgage industry experience and/or training including three years in underwriting. Candidate must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Also, must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
