MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER (COMMERCIAL ONLY)

SCOPE OF WORK

To underwrite income-producing property loan requests (multi-family and commercial) ensuring that they meet company guideline requirements and conform to secondary market investor’s standards. In addition, ensure that loan requests are underwritten in a timely manner.



RESPONSIBILTIES

Stay abreast of changes in and make recommendations for changes in loan underwriting guidelines and loan securitization requirements.
Issue recommendations for approval, modifications or denial of loan requests.
Examine overall loan documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Interface with Legal Counsel (if necessary) and Senior Management on loan documentation and closing issues.
Perform a final underwriting analysis, with preparation of an Underwriting Summary and recommendation for Loan Committee approval.
Perform all other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS

Substantial level of underwriting skills and experience, minimum 2 years with commercial/multifamily loans.
Ability to understand and use underwriting applications
Superior ability to read, write and speak in english


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma
