Manager, Opportunity Management
KPMG LLP is a leader in providing audit and advisory services to the public sector, and more specifically, to the federal government. The Advisory Services team strives to help the federal government improve on both regulatory demands and their strategic approach to performance and risk management. Professionals are able to provide relevant industry and functional skills where they need them most. We are currently seeking an Opportunity Management Manager to join us in our Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities:
Identify, qualify and opportunity major federal acquisitions
Opportunity plan development and execution in a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on melding business, management, technical and cost elements for winning proposals
Identify bid opportunities through a wide variety of information sources and track the status of potential opportunities that have been identified as targets
Develop and continually re-evaluate bid plans
Assign appropriate general responsibilities and specific tasks (with deadlines) for proposals to Associates
Manage the productivity and contributions of team members to produce the desired results
Analyze the status of proposal development to help ensure progress toward the defined schedule
Analyze the firm's competition and formulate plans to develop and maintain advantage
Identify and select the most appropriate team Partners, when needed
Develop and negotiate teaming agreements, statements of work, and subcontracts directly
Identify risk and develop defined risk-mitigation techniques
Develop appropriate reality models with management and the pricing staff
Develop and write the management plan
Develop status and analysis reports and presentations, as requested
Proofread and quality-check work performed by team members
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or equivalent
Five years of experience in the federal government contracting environment, of which two years is focused on business development and/or capture management
Ability to develop opportunity plans, teaming relationships and marketing plans for specific programs or opportunities
Proficient in the federal government services procurement process
A general knowledge of the proposal development process
