The Interpretation Program Manager is responsible for designing, organizing and conducting interpretive training programs at Lake Powell Resort & Marina . The Program Manager will support the following departments: Scenic Cruise Adventures (SCA), Boat Tours, Wilderness River Adventures (WRA), Float Trips, Wilderness River Adventures Whitewater.



The Program Manager will ensure consistence with GCNRA/NPS and GRCA/NPS Interpretation Standards. Maintain close liaison with GCNRA/NPS and GRCA/NPS Interpretive Personnel. Supervise interpretive personnel through auditing and coaching. Assist department managers in seasonal hiring of interpretive staff (guides, pilots, etc.) Act as mentor to new interpreters. Develop and maintain professional relationships and liaisons with the National Park Service, National Association for Interpretation; Glen Canyon Natural History Association, John Wesley Powell Museum, local community and any other regional Interpretation-based organizations.


Job Requirements


Certified Interpretive Planner or Certified Interpretive Manager through NAI (Current, or within one year)

Minimum of 2 years experience in managing, training and coaching interpretive personnel. Demonstrated knowledge of regional cultural and natural resources. Excellent oral and written communcation skills and superior customer service skills needed. Ability to speak a second language (fluency not-required), such as French, German, or Navajo desired. Familiarity in copy- and interpretive writing, graphic design desirable. Previous experience in hospitality/tourism recuired.
