Job Responsibilities: Global Account Manager (Government and Education Solutions)
The Government & Education Solution’s organization is looking for a top-ranked Global Account Manager. The position will require an executive role in building or establishing customer relationships and executing a strategic sales plan for state government. Management functions involve direction of Qwest support organization including sales engineers, post sale operations managers, support consultants and account executives. Key to the success will be the matrix management of overlay sales group sales including Qwest Business Markets Group (Globals and Nationals), QIS, and Qwest vendor partners.
Manage and engage between one and ten Global accounts while selling the entire suite of Qwest products and services.
Meet and/or exceed assigned sales objectives and monthly revenue quotas.
Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects sufficient to meet monthly quota requirements.
Maintain revenue and build new revenue within established account base.
Research, develop, and present well-structured sales proposals (formal/informal) to prospective customers.
Complete service orders in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.
Individual will be responsible for driving sales activity and closing business within State Government and Education.
Will be required to drive new sales opportunities for all Qwest services by working closely with various government funded agencies, across the state.
Activities will include: identifying contacts and decision makers, understanding customer business and IT needs, developing and executing creative account strategies that encompasses network services and CPE, crafting solution-based proposals that will address business needs, and achieving revenue growth objectives.
Articulate the purpose, key features, advantages, limitations, and value proposition of company telecommunications and/or technology products and services (i.e., Voice, Data, IP and Hosting).
Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies, competitors, etc. into strategic account planning and sales activities.
Interact effectively as a team member within a National Account Team organization to support achievement of sales objectives and deliver Qwest’s Spirit of Service.
Partner with Sales, Service and Support personnel to strategically support accounts that bill $30,000 per month and above.
Partner with customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value-adding business solution.
Identify and qualify prospective customers by telephone, cold call premise visits, and networking.
Manage sales funnel to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas.
Close large, complex sales engagements with customers by gaining commitment to implement the value-adding product and/or service solution(s).
Manage and maintain existing customer accounts to compile and analyze data, determine customer position, identify strategic opportunities, set goals, establish responsibilities, allocate resources and set measurable account plan objectives.
Profile accounts for multiple products and multiple decision-makers.
Utilize PowerPoint to develop presentations focused on sales solutions responding to the specific buying needs of the client.
Utilize Excel to create spreadsheets and manage data related to customer accounts and sales funnel management.
Develop, maintain and manage customer relationships from the operational to executive levels throughout the organization.
Make accurate and timely decisions based on customer needs and business requirements.
Gather and analyze relevant information / data from multiple sources to define the dimension of an opportunity or issue.
Apply effective time management techniques and strategies to prioritize activities related directly to selling and minimize non-productive sales activities.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
5 to 7+ years of successful sales history in a Telecommunications environment with Fortune 500 accounts Must have a strong understanding in the following areas: voice and data network services, network management services, local and wide area networks, web hosting and data customer premise equipment Must be experienced in consultative selling to either Government/Education or Fortune 1000 marketplace Technical aptitude and proficiency with MS products including Excel and PowerPoint Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation requiredPreferred Job Qualifications: Bachelors degree Understanding of business drivers related to next-generation managed network services such as VPN and security services Existing relationships with area’s Government/Education agencies and universities Demonstrated stable track record of success in Sales, with 2-3 years consecutive, successful sales experience within one company within the last 5 years Experience selling off contracts at the state and local government levelTake the next step to a great career with Qwest!
