Junior Achievement is the bridge between education and business for our youth. Through in-classroom K—12th grade and Exchange City programs, Junior Achievement (JA) prepares youth with the skills, knowledge and attitude for success in tomorrow's workplace. JA currently delivers business and economic programs to 50,000 youth annually in our K-12 in-classroom programs and 10,000 in the Exchange City program in the Phoenix metro area.
Exchange City is a nationally recognized, innovative learning program that provides 5th / 6th grade students with an understanding of basic economic concepts and consumer skills they will use as adults. Exchange City is a 7,000 square foot child-sized city, consisting of 14 business enterprises. Through in-class instruction and an interactive 5 hour experience at Exchange City, students learn first hand what it takes to create a business, produce a newspaper, supervise employees, hold an elected office, and personally earn and manage money.
We are looking for a dynamic Exchange City Director to manage the development, implementation and expansion of Junior Achievement’s Exchange City program. This is a unique position for an individual who enjoys working with children, while managing a business unit with budgetary, customer satisfaction, strategic, and staffing responsibilities. This position Interacts regularly with students, educators, parent volunteers, and business leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
?Manage day-to-day operations of Exchange City to ensure high quality program delivery.
?Oversee build out of second experiential site (working with contractors, architects and suppliers).
?Recruit / train / manage / evaluate performance of Exchange City team members.
?Develop and manage an annual expense budget.
?Direct the marketing of Exchange City and create visibility in the educational community via events, functions, tours, state media exposure, the WEB page and updated literature.
?Develop and implement educator growth strategy by using mail, e-mail, phone, school visits and recognition / retention sessions.
?Direct all educator and volunteer training, program management, and customer support.
?Monitor customer service and retention of current schools. Solicit feedback from participants through a final evaluation instrument.
?Supervise procurement and delivery of all program curriculum and materials.
?Prepare materials for volunteer Board of Directors and committee meetings.
?Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of the City with the facility manager
?Provide cross-functional assistance as needed, ongoing data and reports, internal and external customer service and community outreach.
