This position is state specific, but is flexible on the city. This is a home based position with travel required.This position will actively solicit accounts with bookings of 600 rooms peak or higher in the association and corporate segments from the geographic/vertical markets assigned to you, ensure that overall value of these programs meet specific revenue measures, work within the geographic team assigned, with special emphasis on supporting your fellow teammates through actively assisting/positioning Gaylord Hotels to each of your customers, have latitude to make independent decisions free from immediate supervision in negotiations on behalf of the hotel in matters of significant financial consequences and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment on the following:
Achieve established production goals (yearly).
Solicit convention customers from the association/corporate markets assigned, with emphasis on acquisition accounts
Plan and participate in Sales trips and industry related meetings as appropriate to the assigned markets/territories.
Ensure accuracy of account info within Daylight including room blocks, group history, rate updates, contacts, call reports.
Participate in all geographic meetings.
Actively participate where necessary on all special projects/events such as Site Inspections, FAM trips.
Represent Gaylord Hotels in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business administration or related discipline preferred.
Minimum five years in hotel sales preferred with at least two years selling hotels of 600 rooms or higher.
Knowledgeable of convention business on both regional and national levels.
Demonstrated selling skills, including opening, probing, negotiating and closing.
