Director of Corporate Purchasing
The Director of Corporate Purchasing will be responsible for the procurement of certain MRO materials, components, supplies and services for all locations. He/she will also coordinate vendor and material agreements for all companies. Must design, develop and manage the Corporate purchasing function, including policies and procedures. Will initiate cost reductions through efficient sourcing, contract negotiations and standardization of MRO items. Establish long-term procurement strategies to assure continuous supply and timely procurement of items.
Specific responsibilities also include:
•Establish domestic and foreign suppliers.
•Negotiate cost, terms & conditions and delivery of purchased items.
•Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, and reliability.
•Measure vendor performance.
•Develop and implement inventory reduction strategies.
•Coordinate logistics among operating subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of purchasing management experience in a multi-location manufacturing environment. Prior experience designing and implementing a purchasing process from the ground up is highly desirable. The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to interface with all levels of the company, and strong analytical and negotiating skills. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, hands-on, be detailed oriented and be able to manage multiple priorities. MRP and Lean Six Sigma experience is highly preferred. CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) and CIRM (Certified in Integrated Resource Management) are highly preferred. Travel as required is necessary.
