Director of Clinical Services Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: Director of Clinical Services performs professional human services work and is responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of all aspects of the business/program development; including fiscal mgmt and program growth. This includes responsibility for the development and direction of specialized residential treatment/transition homes in California supporting people with significant behavioral challenges including some who have been considered adult and juvenile offenders. Supports and supervises FBS (Family Behavioral Services). Providing training as needed. Works under minimal supervision. Exercises initiative, discretion and independent judgement in the performance of assigned tasks. Careful evaluation of operational situations is required to creatively manage the program function optimally with regards to general operations, staffing, client services, and compliance issues, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES: To perform this job successfully, Director of Clinical Services must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Supervise program staff by providing continuous coaching, feedback, and progressive discipline when necessary.Oversee and manage the state's clinical programs and services.Develop and implement a growth plan for intensive residential services/FBS and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and who have high intensity behavioral needs and/or criminal histories.Assign caseloads, evaluate performance for quality assurance, conduct new employee orientation, and manage staff development and training.Supervise clinical and crisis management and establish on-call duties.Assist in marketing and developing new business, as assigned, and ensure a timely response to all requests for information, services, and documentation.Project revenue and monitor monthly expenses in conjunction with program goals.Maintain knowledge of clinical standards and ensure compliance in terms of positive treatment interventions.Monitor compliance with all regulatory, contractual, corporate, and legal requirements.Ensure that all records are accurate, up to date, and are in compliance with legal and corporate requirements.Process referrals, intakes, assessments, matching and placement of new clients.Provide resources for staff concerning theories and current research relevant to program development.Monitor the process for selecting and training professional and support staff.Monitor the supports needed for clients to maximize success.Serve as liaison with consulting staff (psychiatrist, psychologists, physicians, etc.)Oversee appropriate interface with billing system and other operating units as necessary to meet company requirements.Monitor the availability and efficacy of community-based and other supports required by the program.Support staff in the development of and facilitation of person centered plans.Assures service delivery and compliance with all regulatory, contractual, corporate, and legal requirements.Develop and maintain working relationships with all clients, families, funding sources and regulatory agencies, as appropriate, and monitor their satisfaction with services.Promote and market programs to funding sources, community agencies, families, and related groups.Present information in both formal and informal settings.Interface with internal and external stakeholders.Other delegated duties as assigned.

Director of Clinical Services Applicant Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Director of Clinical Services positions requires a license/certification in social service/rehabilitation field (e.g., CABA, Psychologist, LCSW, MFT)with a BCBA certification preferred. Also requires a minimum of five years experience working with special populations plus three years experience in operational management. Must also have demonstrated experience in behaviorally oriented program design, strategic planning, program operation, and financial oversight with excellent organizational and negotiations skills.
REASONING ABILITY: Director of Clinical Services must show the ability to apply common sense and comprehension to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete and abstract variables in standardized and non-standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current driver's license, car registration, and record of insurability required.Current CPR/First Aid Certification required in some states.BCBA certification
