Director Security Risk Management

Location: Denver, CO Job Responsibilities: The Director of Security position is within the Qwest Risk Management and Compliance organization and reports to the Vice President of Corporate Security. This position directs the corporate physical security program and is responsible for the development of effective physical security plans, systems and procedures. Develops, implements and manages the strategic and tactical planning for physical security operations. Develops plans, organizes and directs the activities of on-site security managers, staff and contract guard services. Develops and implements standards, policies, procedures and training to protect personnel, property, facilities and operations from misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage or loss. Responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of effective controls to prevent and mitigate risk. Responsible for conducting or coordinating internal and external audits. Designs, implements, manages audits and oversees vendor implementation of state of the art access control and monitoring systems. Coordinates physical security administrative and operational requirements with Qwest’s Information Security group, Disaster Preparedness group, Operations group, Real Estate group, the Compliance group with respect to investigations and business partners. Conducts vulnerability assessments, site surveys, research and analysis for security operations to identify best practices, security requirements and cost effective solutions. Develops systems and procedures for visitor control and employee identification. Responsible for the development and management of the physical security budget. Coordinates physical security administrative and operational matters with law enforcement and homeland security agencies to ensure continuity of operations. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in a related field. At least ten years of experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or private security organization.
