Deployment Planning Manager

General Summary
Responsible for the deployment of all interplant shipments of product. Establishes deployment parameters to support network requirements. Communicates daily, weekly and future deployment plans to the plant transportation and supply chain groups. Compares stocking exceptions with deployments and communicates changes to planning and transportation teams. Measures process compliance and effectiveness. Incorporates product builds and warehouse storage strategy in the planning process.Principal Accountabilities
Develop and update the deployment plan on a daily basis - 45%
Collaborate with supply planners and plant production planners to establish and maintain the business parameters for delivering customer service and inventory goals - 20%
Monitor load utilization, shipping patterns and trends to ensure network optimization - 10%
Setup and run the "PLAN" process - 10%
Provide training and expertise on the deployment planning process to relevant stakeholders - 5%
Review and resolve daily backorder issues, and prioritize and expedite orders accordingly - 10%
Job Complexity
Liaise between transportation resources and warehouses to ensure shipments are delivered on a timely basis
Ensure truckloads between plants are full to maximize efficiency
Able to interpret demand patterns and production requirements to form a deployment strategy that meets customer satisfaction and inventory goals
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Minimum education required: Associate's Degree
Education preferred: BS
Minimum Experience: 5-8 YearsQualifications
In-depth understanding of transportation, shipping and warehousing
Excellent analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills required
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred
In-depth knowledge of Manugistics preferred
APICS CPIM Certification Preferred
Basic understanding of manufacturing, distribution and inventory planning, logistics and customer service
Knowledge of the Pepperidge Farm S&OP business process and KPI management
