Demand Planner Manager

General Summary
Drive the supply chain demand planning process for all Pepperidge Farm Business Unit Teams. Lead and develop a team of Demand Planners and their corresponding planning activities. Balance and synchronize supply and demand of all products to assure that the process yields the best possible financial performance for the business. Drive process innovation by leading and managing process improvement and training programs. Communicate Demand Chain forecast plans and the rationale behind them to the Supply Chain.
Principal Accountabilities
15% - Manage (or lead) the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process with all the Business Unit Teams
10% - Create and monitor process KPI's and diagnostics to assure continual improvement efforts
15% - Work closely with Supply Planners to identify and resolve exceptional changes in the forecast and anticipate their need to communicate changes in the forecast across the Supply Chain
15% - Provide demand planning leadership in the demand cycle meetings particularly in consensus meetings. Ensures that all agreements are incorporated into the operational forecast
20% - Lead day-to-day resolution of critical issues affecting the Supply Chain by ad-hoc root cause analysis, help develop workable solutions and assure corrective actions are put into place
15% - Lead accurate statistical modeling efforts in Manugistics to ensure solid baseline intelligence from a supply chain perspective
10% - Develop and coach the talent in the Demand Planning FunctionJob Complexity
Pro-actively work with the Sales Operations and Sales Planning Teams to enhance collaborative planning efforts and improve the quality of market intelligence coming from Field Sales Teams
Provide fact based analysis of current trends and gaps to the financial plan during demand cycle meetings.
Benchmark the S&OP process against peer company processes to assure world-class design
Strong knowledge of time-series and causal forecasting methods and the understanding of how optimize statistical forecast model parameters.
In-depth understanding of relevant demand drivers and how to apply the appropriate forecasting method to predict their impact in the ongoing forecast.
Responsible for developing reporting capabilities using Pepperidge Farm systems - Manugistics, PFish
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Minimum education required: BS
Education preferred: Masters
Minimum Experience: 8 YearsQualifications
In depth knowledge of Manugistics is required
8-12 years experience within the Supply Chain Planning process required
Requires detailed understanding of Manufacturing, Distribution Planning, Inventory Planning, Logistics and Consumer Service, Procurement and Marketing processes for a packaged perishable goods consumer products company
Must have excellent Project Management skills
SAP experience a plus
APICS, CPM certification preferred
Must have excellent statistical and analytical skills
The ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of management is essential
Must be systems savvy.
Software application experience required
Must possess business savvy.
Must have a firm understanding of how various business functions interact.
