DIRECTOR, HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGER

Western Medical Center/Anaheim has been serving the City of Anaheim and its surrounding communities since 1975. The hospital is a community based 188-bed acute care facility. More than 300 physicians practice at the hospital, along with over 500 professional, technical, and administrative staff.

We are seeking a talented Director, Health Information Management, who will report to our CFO and provide leadership/supervision of the Health Information Services department in integrating interdepartmental services to hospital medical staff and ancillary departments. This position will also manage quality control programs to provide health information records completion, transmission, indexing, abstracting, coding, research, filing, storage, records retrieval & contracted services and participate in the selection process for outside resources not provided within the department. Will also participate in hospital performance improvement committees, train dept staff, monitor their work performance, resolve operational and personnel issues, evaluate staff, write and update departmental policies/procedures and perform other assigned duties. This position does not provide direct patient care.

Requires 3 years management experience in Medical Records, current national registration with the American Health Information Association and a RHIA or RHIT graduate of an approved school, with a program in medical record science.
