Reports to: Plant ManagerJob Summary:
A Continuous Improvement/Quality Manager manages deployment of the Textron Six Sigma (TSS) by providing support and expert advice to operations in the implementation, deployment and advancement of Textron Six Sigma. This includes researching and developing new concepts/tools, providing training, providing consulting and developing resources to advance the deployment of Lean and Six Sigma in operations. Strategic priorities have to be aligned with Textron Corporate Six Sigma and Quality. In addition this position will be responsible for ensuring the quality assurance program is in compliance with company policies and procedures. They provide strategic planning process to integrate quality improvements with the overall business objectives of the company. The also develop, coordinate, implement and maintain the most effective and efficient quality practices for optimum quality control of normal and third party registrar requirements.Responsibilities to Include:
Six Sigma activities including BAP and Kaizen events.
Manage cost reduction program
Compliance to company and third party systems requirements
Assure that products shipped meet customer requirements, and are fit for use
Maintain applicable quality related documents and report on trends
Assure direct reports are safe and provide a safe work environment.
Advance the deployment of Lean concepts by researching and developing leading-edge processes, methods and tools.
Provide training and consulting support on the Textron Six Sigma process to operations.
Coordinate and lead Lean (Kaizen) and Six Sigma activities to optimize resources and support corporate, division and individual plant goals.
Continuously look for and identify business improvement initiatives that support corporate vision and goals and that are aligned with the Goal Deployment Process (GDP).
Responsible for plant modernization projects.
Responsible for all cost reduction programs.
Coach, mentor, and develop and employees assigned for supervision
Assure that Falcon Road meets and/or exceeds company and third party registrar (ISO 9000) systems requirements.
Coordinate the activities of the QA group and support the efforts of the other functional areas to assure that compliance is maintained to all.
Provide access to the company policies and procedures so as to ensure compliance to requirements. Falcon Road’s Management Representative for ISO 9000 compliance.
Monitor the level of conformance of the quality system through the results of internal and external assessments.
Assures that appropriate manufacturing personnel have access to adequate gauging and measuring devices to assure conformance.
Maintain and monitor records of product shipped, and any discrepancies noted internally (IMI's) or externally (customer concerns).
Utilize that information to improve the quality system in order to prevent repeat occurrences.
Monitor the timely and accurate control of all hold areas.
Responsible for the maintenance and reporting of applicable quality measurement tools (i.e. Success factor 1 and Quality workbooks).
Maintains monthly updates of the various documents
Monthly reports are discussed on a regular basis with the staff group. They become part of management review meetings and are acted upon should trends become evident.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in business or a related field.Position Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Quality work environment.
Formalized Six Sigma training - BB trained and/or certified.
Working knowledge of PC usage and applicable software packages (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc).
Thorough understanding of related SPC techniques.
Working knowledge of the various manufacturing areas related to the fastener industry.License and Certification Requirements:
ASQ certification.
