Concurrent Review Supervisor (RN)

Summary/Position Objectives:The Concurrent Review Supervisor assures that all concurrent review and inpatient services are monitored in a professional, competent manner according to SCHN established policy. Additionally, the CR Supervisor assists with the development and evaluation of programs to promote efficient delivery of CR services.Responsibilities:Essential Functions:? Supervises, advises and facilitates the ongoing development and education of the concurrent review staff.
? Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the concurrent review department.
? Assures compliance with state and federal regulations governing concurrent review.
? Identifies problem areas and participates in the development and implementation of appropriate corrective action.
? Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of the concurrent review program.
? Interfaces with all departments within SCHN to ensure appropriate support for all inpatient authorization and concurrent review activities.
? Participates in the writing and revision of concurrent review department policies.
? Facilitates effective interaction with providers through provider education, development of new concurrent review programs and problem solving activities.
? Facilitates the effective coordination of activities between concurrent review and the case management department.
? Performs other duties, assignments and responsibilities as assigned or required.Secondary Functions:? Works in a manner that is not disruptive to peers, supervisors and/or subordinates.
? Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
? Must be available and willing to work such days and hours as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
? Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. (If travel required.)Knowledge and Skills:
Complex choice of action - requires considerable logic, understanding to analyze problem and determine course of action. Ability to read and comprehend complex information. Effective organizational and team leadership skills. Ability to write and articulate clearly at all levels. Knowledgeable and experienced in using Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.Education and Work Experience:
RN required/BSN preferred. Five years experience in the healthcare industry, including two years experience with data analysis and report preparationWork Environment Qualifications:
Normal office environment. Ability to be mobile.Positions Reporting:
