Clinical Practice Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery

Hospital system in Northern California is looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for the Labor and Delivery department.

The Clinical Practice manager is a Registered Nurse with advanced knowledge and expertise who manages the clinical and educational resources and care standards for the obstetric population.

This position also participates in the development of care delivery systems and clinical practice programs. This position's role along with other members of the management team is to promote the provision of effective, high quality patient care to all patients.

Responsibilities also include, oversight of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, management of human, fiscal and other resources as they pertain to special projects, development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, and fostering of interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships within the assigned units, between units in the Women's and Children's Services area, and between ancillary departments that support the units.

1) MUST BE AN RN (REGISTERED NURSE)
2) Masters Degree in Clinical Nursing specialty Required
3) Current AHA or equivalent BLS Certification
4) Current AHA NRP Certification
5) Working knowledge of health care practices, patient-care equipment and products
6) Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in Obstetric nursing with at least one (1) year working with high-risk OB patients
7) Three (3) to five (5) years of education or clinical specialist experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred
8) Excellent communication skills
9) Teaching ability, leadership ability, and high effective team member
10) Word processing skills required
11) Statistical/data management skills preferred
12) Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing care for patients
13) Ability to interact in a professional manner with administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel as well as external customers
14) JCAHO and Title 22 knowledge required
