The Associate Store Manager will assist with the management of retail store operations and the supervision of Assistant Manager and Sales Associates in cooperation with the Store Manager.
The Sales Associates / Gift Experts generates sales through customer service and the upholding of the company’s selling expectations. As a member of a store team, the gift expert contributes to a positive environment for the customers and the employees. The Sales Associates / Gift Expert may also perform operational activities that support the needs of the business.The Managers must possess the ability to:Motivate and Train People:
Supervise and motivate staff to meet and exceed goals consistently.Apply and teach effective selling strategies and supervisory practices.
Network, recruit, assess and hire qualified candidates.
Set clear expectations for all employees, provide guidance, offer support and hold accountable.
Coach, train and develop associates.Promote an environment that supports feedback up and down to create a knowledgeable and customer-oriented team.Build bench strength for the organization by retaining employees through career pathing.Create Product Excitement:
Execute and maintain merchandise presentation to brand standard.
Communicate merchandise feedback to Store Operations Team and merchants.
Create in-store excitement and knowledge around “the perfect gift,” ensure our customer’s see us as “gift experts.”
Make your store the most popular gathering place for entertaining and gifting.
Investigate community for potential business relationships and charitable opportunities.
Build Operational Excellence:
Monitor and maintain company policies; support company expectations and systems.
Create and execute company action plans to increase sales and profits.
Maximize inventory, cash controls and loss prevention procedures.
Manage a schedule to support a consistent customer experience and execution of non-sell tasks.The Sales Associates must possess the ability to:
Generate Sales:
Complete all components of Blue Tulip’s current selling training program.Greet all customers with a personalized greeting in a timely manner.
Demonstrates a presence in the store by creating energy.
Introduce customers who are browsing to new gift ideas and follows up with all customers.Effectively observe customers then connects by asking questions to uncover customers purpose.
Provides customers with features and benefits of products and suggests additional items that go with the customer’s choice. Engage customers in conversation to begin a relationship.
Thank customers for shopping with Blue Tulip, offer gift wrap options, capture their information at the point of sale and invite them to return.
Communicate product feedback and customer feedback to management.Build Operational Excellence:
Uphold basic operational standards by adhering to company policy and procedure.
Assists management team with merchandise presentation and shipment.
Assists in maintaining a clean, organized and replenished store.
REQUIREMENTS
Associate Manager Qualifications:
One to three years previous retail management experience, college degree preferred.
Proven ability to increase sales and store profitability.
Proven ability to attract, manage and develop associates to be considered for promotion.
Systems and computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as dictated by the needs of the business.
Ability to move medium to large items weight up to 50 pounds.Sales Associates Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer service oriented position preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to model professional behavior and demonstrate excellence selling techniques.
Ability to move medium to large items weight up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maneuver around salesfloor and stockroom.
