Job Description - IB Operations - Fixed Income Settlements

As a Fixed Income (Operations) Settlement Line Manager you will manage the process and team responsible the settlement transactions via numerous proprietary and vendor systems. You will facilitate the accurate and timely settlement of domestic bond transactions via the Federal Reserve Securities Wire or Depository Trust Company. Fixed Income Bond Settlement Managers perform the following responsibilities:

Manage a team of specialists and oversee the process associated with settlement

Identify trade discrepancies as well as mitigate the risks related to the trade life cycle.

Manage complex operational and settlement problems.

Interact daily with the middle office, counterparties, traders, corresponding banks, immediate supervisors, and the finance desk

You will be required to master the complexities of many fixed income products as well as gain a solid understanding of the business model and infrastructure.

Must be controlled and detail orientated. Must be able to analyze complex and ambiguous issues and recommend creative solutions. Must be able to problem solve under tight deadlines.



Note: Function is migrating to the Delaware location. Initial training prior to migration will require several full-time weeks of training in Chicago. Travel requirements will be extensive for the training period only
REQUIREMENTS


Qualifications

3-5 years experience managing Securities operations

5-10 years operations experience

Excellent organizational skills

Proven ability to manage a team of 5-10 people through coaching and development

Securities experience required

Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required

Advanced analytical skills required

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint, Internet)Good interpersonal skills
