Assistant Marine Operations Manager

Assistant Marine Operations Manager Moran Towing of Savannah has an immediate opening for an Assistant Marine Operations Manager for our Savannah, GA location. This position assists the General & Operations Manager with: daily tug operations; crew scheduling, training & management; purchasing functions; required reporting; compliance with Regulatory standards; building positive relationships with Customers, the Port Authority & Maritime Community; & additional projects as assigned. We need a confident, dedicated, hands-on, highly motivated individual who has perceptive judgment & strong leadership skills. This challenging position presents an opportunity for the right person to grow with a major maritime transportation company. Qualifications Include: Required: l Associate's degree at minimum; Bachelor's degree in transportation or marine engineering preferred. Experience will be factored with education, however, & business knowledge & success in a maritime administrative function or marine discipline that would benefit Moran operations will be seriously considered; l Competency with Microsoft Office applications; and l Strong written & verbal communication skills. Preferred: l Management experience providing customer service in the maritime transportation industry; l Operational knowledge of the marine environment & equipment, including familiarity with marine regulatory requirements; l Demonstrated knowledge & compliance with quality & safety management systems; l Prior supervisory experience that includes hiring, scheduling & training; and l Past participation in marine accident investigations involving personnel or equipment.
