ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
The Goddard School, a leader in the franchised preschool industry, with a nationwide network of 220 schools, is growing and continuing to set the standards for excellence. We are in search of an Assistant Director for our school located in Gilbert, Arizona. BASIC FUNCTION:
The Assistant Director will report directly to the Executive Director of the school and is responsible in assisting the Executive Director in all day-to-day operations, along with providing effective programs and communication with parents and staff. This is a full time position that may require some weekend effort for marketing and/or teambuilding events. A minimum of one weeks travel is required for corporate training. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Assist the Executive Director in planning and organizing activities that meet the goals of the school; including policies, enrollment, staffing, curriculum, budgeting and administration.
Assist the Executive Director in maintaining appropriate staff levels for enrollment in accordance with school policies and state regulations, including recruitment, selection and appraisal of employees.
Touring prospective families around the school.
Assisting the Executive Director in providing parents in orientation, problem-solving and maintaining active parent-school relationships.
Assist the Executive Director in maintaining records pertaining to the administration of the school in accordance with state requirements in health and safety, enrollment and licensing.
Assist the Executive Director in developing plans for the use and care of space and school equipment.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
Must have thorough knowledge of:
1. State child care regulations, laws, codes, policies and procedures.
2. Policies and objectives of the school program.
3. Program quality criteria and assessment process.
4. Developmental needs of children cared for in the program.
5. Cultural diversity issues within the community.
6. Principles and practices of supervision and training.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Have acquired skills in the operation of a computer, related software and assigned office equipment.
Possess leadership and organizational abilities.
Proven ability to make mature judgments and decisions.
Proven ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff.
Be able to work independently and with little direction or supervision.
Possess proven time-management skills; meet schedules and time lines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business or related field.
Some experience in a child care program a plus.
PRESCHOOL & PREK LEAD TEACHERS AND ASST. TEACHERS
THE GODDARD SCHOOL, a leader in the franchised preschool industry, is growing and continuing to set the standards for excellence. We are looking for Full and part time Preschool and PreK Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers for our new school in Gilbert, Arizona . Qualified candidates must have a BA or BS Degree and Certification in Education or Child Care Development. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience in a preschool setting preferred.
