Truancy Officer/LSW II

Cornell Companies, Inc is currently operating alternative education programs for regular and special needs children in the Reading, Lebanon, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia areas, grades 3-12. Our programs provide a safe and highly structured educational setting to improve the students' academic performance and attendance.

We are currently interviewing for the following positions:

Truancy Officer/Life Skills II positions for our William Penn A.C.T.S. Program in Harrisburg, PA

These positions will work with youth in an alternative school environment for the 2006-07 school year. Truancy staff will work with school district and program contacts to locate and transport students that are truant from school. Travel around the Harrisburg area is required.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum HS diploma and 2 years experience in a related field, but higher education and additional experience in the field of education or human services is preferred.

Staff are required to be good problem solvers and professional while maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment.

Candidates must possess a valid PA driver's license, be 21 years of age, and pass criminal clearances (ACT 33 and 34, and FBI if out of state). No phone calls. EOE
