Staff Writer

Experienced individual needed to report and write daily stories, briefs, enterprise and work on special projects for the News-Press. Initiate coverage, maintain future files, maintain good contact with sources/public, edit wire copy and press releases, and perform other duties as assigned, must be thorough in gathering information, well grounded in research skills, be able to meet short and long-term deadlines, possess an awareness of news in the community/world relating to issues, exhibit good news judgment, be able to pick up on nuances and out-of-synch items.
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify you will need a degree in Journalism or field related to Journalism, experience with a daily newspaper, and understand AP style. Candidate must be capable of handling complex story subjects, have understanding of subject areas related to beat, possess superior writing, spelling and grammar skills.
