Sr. Healthcare Writer

Position Summary:

Serve as the main point of contact for content development on key healthcare initiatives, ensuring that the information is medically accurate, up-to-date, and reflects the client’s communications goals and style requirements.
Provide strategic leadership on related projects and contribute innovative solutions to the project team that address the clients’ unique needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·Edit others’ work at a substantive level to ensure accuracy and reinforce high standards of quality on products delivered to clients.
·Contribute additional writing/editing support on other healthcare projects, as needed.
·Generate topics for serial features such as e-mail newsletters and online media.
·Represent the content department in internal team meetings and client meetings as needed.
·Conduct all necessary background research to understand the relevant disease states, treatment options, brand messaging, and target audiences to help meet or exceed clients’ expectations on projects.
·Understanding the key principles of writing for the Web and apply them to assigned Web site projects.
·Understanding the key principles of promotional writing and apply them to incorporate key brand messages into Web sites, outbound messages, banner ads, and other online media.
·Proofread all phases of work to insure that content is grammatically correct and that no spelling, punctuation, or other errors are found.
·Demonstrate a high level of knowledge regarding regulatory issues and requirements.
·Coordinate and keep track of all reference materials and relevant industry and lay press articles for assigned projects.
·Serve as a resource expert on project-related disease states, therapeutic options, the pharmaceutical industry, and Web writing style in order to enhance the development of quality products.
·Follow department and company processes to ensure quality of material and produce finished products that meet or exceed the clients’ expectations.
·Keep manager apprised of workload, timelines, and project related issues; contribute suggestions to help streamline the department’s processes and help the group produce high-quality work in an efficient manner.
·Participate, as needed, in client presentations and new business development.
·Contribute to the success and growth of the company by demonstrating a commitment to your job and providing input and recommendations to strengthen the company. Learn and utilize all software programs necessary to perform the above functions.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct, manage, train, or mentor Healthcare Writers or Associate Healthcare Writers
REQUIREMENTS
Experience Requirements:.Minimum of 5 years experience in the healthcare industry.Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and contract research.Must have agency experience. .Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in communications and journalism.Must have 2 plus years experience with Medical-Regulatory Review processEducation/Training Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in scientific field, or degree in communications with experience in scientific field (Master’s Preferred)
