Essential Job Tasks:

Perform sight and sound supervision of detainees; conduct security searches of individual detainees and the physical plant; access and input information into computer system; inventorying and filing clothing and property; maintain records and make daily log entries; respond to emergency situations and restrain combative juveniles. Safely operates a motor vehicle. Performs other duties as assigned. Positions require working a minimum of 40 hours per week/80 hours within a two-week time period, demonstrated reliable attendance at work, strong time management skills, the flexibility to work variable hours and days, including evening, night, early morning and weekends, and the ability to prioritize a variety of tasks/emergencies.

3131 W. Durango, Phoenix, AZ 85009

Please plan on staying approximately 3 hours for the entire test process. At the conclusion of each test, details on submitting an application will be available.

REQUIREMENTS


Position Qualifications:

Associate's degree or completion of 64 college credit hours from an accredited college or university accredited through the Council for Higher Education (CHEA) or the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Military service (active duty), public safety experience or direct child care experience in a licensed therapeutic residential treatment center, CPS/DES group home, or a juvenile correctional facility can substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis. (Public Safety is defined as law enforcement, EMT, and Fire positions.) (Revised: 8/11/06)

NOTE: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Must have or obtain a valid AZ driver's license by the time of hire.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The hiring authority will verify educational/military credentials and candidates will be required to furnish official transcripts and DD214 (if applicable) at the time of processing. All candidates will be required to have a complete background/reference check and polygraph.
