Patent Administrator (Long Term Contract)

Immediate opening for a Patent Administrator in the legal dept. of a large biotech company on the peninsula! A contract position slated to last 7+ months. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years supporting a Patent Team and handling the administrative tasks associated with the patent filing process. Those with 1 to 3 years experience will also be reviewed. (This would be an excellent growth opportunity for an experienced patent secretary to work as a Patent Administrator.)
To be considered you MUST HAVE the following:
- patent prosecution experience; US, PCT and foreign filing exp. (foreign filing helpful but not necessary); responsibilities may include processing US and PCT patent legal documents, fining applications, and responding to office actions and correspondence after attorney's review.
- ability to maintain and review attorney docket reports and incoming mail and process accordingly
- assist with patent related projects as needed
- ability to provide administrative support for attorney(s) (schedule meetings, travel arrangements, process expense reports)
- accuracy and attention to detail extremely important
- ability to work with others, self-start, and work independently in the absence of supervisors essential
- computer literacy w/ experience in MS Word, Excel
