Description of Duties


Provides research, analysis and coordination on Nintendo's Internet anti-piracy program
Integrates into the Internet community
Monitors Internet activity and provides statistical data, reports/analysis regarding pirated content/products and illegal Internet activities
Investigates and researches the source of infringement
Makes recommendations and develops an effective, long-term monitoring and response program
Sends Cease and Desist letters as directed
Adapts to the changing Internet environment by using a variety of protocols and networking systems
Communicates with outside agencies regarding illegal Internet activities, including Internet service providers, Nintendo's subsidiaries/distributors, U.S. Government agencies, trade associations, Internet experts and outside law firms
Maintains awareness of video game industry and communicates the current developments in gaming software/hardware to Manager
Creates and maintains databases of research results
Identifies illegal activities and makes recommendations regarding a course of action to Manager







Summary of Requirements
Three years of related work experience
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Internet, including peer-to-peer (P2P), file transfer protocol (FTP, newsgroups, website configurations, chat rooms, browsing, Internet vocabulary/terminology, and the ability to integrate into the Internet user community
Experience with eBay and other auction sites
Excellent computer skills
Some knowledge of HTML
Ability to research domain and IP address ownership
Ability to identify illegal Internet activity and recommend a course of action
Ability to gain and/or maintain knowledge of the video game industry
Experience working with extremely sensitive information and maintaining its confidentiality
Strong analytical, statistical and organizational skills
Previous background in intellectual property law helpful

 





Education
Formal technical training in computers and the Internet.
