Insurance Regulatory Attorney
Job Summary:
Advises and assists the Company with its legal obligations related to a wide range of insurance and business issues.
Essential Job Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Advises management on insurance regulatory issues.
Assists all divisions of company in ensuring compliance with insurance laws and regulations.
Assists with preparation of holding company, license applications, and other filings.
Interacts with insurance regulators as needed.
Reviews product-related materials such as policies, web sites, press releases and brochures to ensure clarity and legality.
Drafts and reviews commercial contracts, including service, distribution, and management agreements.
Manages litigation and works with outside counsel when needed.
Assists the Company’s senior management on an as-needed basis with international activities of the Mondial Assistance Group (Paris).
Advises management on general corporate legal issues, in connection with matters assigned by the General Counsel.

Ability to adapt to on-going change and work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Knowledge of insurance regulatory issues, particularly property and casualty.

Adept at using the internet and other resources to research legal information.
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Professional demeanor
Time management and organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously· Ability to work independently and collaborate as needed with teams and other departments
Knowledge of World Access products and services
PC Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.· Ability to apply feedback, take initiative and be accountable for work
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate is needed with a license to practice law in Virginia (or the ability to promptly obtain license). Five or more years of insurance regulatory experience is needed, preferably with an insurer or regulator. Experience with NILS/INSource, contracts, and general corporate legal matters a plus. Prior supervisory experience not required, but preferred.
