IT Security Technical Trainer

Purpose: The Technical Trainer will deliver high quality training programs on MessageLabs’ products and services (internet, email, web and security). You will be working in a global team providing training and coaching to sales, operations and technical staff. Based in the US, this position will report to the head of enterprise training in the UK and will also carry out projects as requested by the sales and operations management.

· Develop, design and establish company wide technical and sales training programs, including structuring curricula, and implementing continuous improvement in classroom, webex and coaching sessions

· Deployment of on-line, remote training content for customers and employees on MessageLabs’ products and services

· Develop training materials for new products in association with product managers

· Create training needs of our existing and new customers and partners

· Train key members of other departments on effective training techniques

· Providing instructional design and production support to Sales, Channel, and Client Operations for online training content

· Assess trainee competencies including the need for additional training and provide feedback to management

· Develop metrics to evaluate training program effectiveness as measured against key business goals

REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 5 years with managed security experience
· Working knowledge of SMTP, HTTP and related technologies
· Coursework, Certification, or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field desirable
· Industry recognized qualifications or experience in Security Solutions / Networking / Email / Spam / Web Technologies a plus
· Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering successful training programs in a commercial setting to sales, marketing and support staff
· Experience in E-Learning solutions (Captivate and Breeze experience preferable)
· Ability to work independently, analyzing the needs of staff and partners to develop and deliver training and sales programs
· Excellent presentation skills; must be dynamic and energetic
· Excellent technical writing skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Microsoft Office proficient
